DPOC STRATEGIC PLANNING MEETING AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

September 27-28, 2003, Barbados, W.I.

The Disabled Peoples' Organizations of the Caribbean (DPOC) staged a Strategic Planning Meeting on September 27-28, 2003 in Barbados.  The completed Strategic Plan that will affect all the member organizations of DPOC was unveiled to its Council during the meeting.

ABAPD President represented the Association at the meetings.  The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for DPOC also took place during the two-day deliberations.

During the Annual General Meeting, a new slate of Executives was elected.  They are as follows:

1. Mr. Michael Thorney - President

2. Mr. Sherman Bullard - Vice President

3. Ms. Eudalie Wickham- Secretary

4. Ms. Patricia Cumberbatch- Treasurer

5. Mr. Leslie A. Emanuel- Information Officer

This Board of Executives will manage the Organization for the next two (2) years.  DPOC has a Secretariat in Jamaica that is manned by a Regional Director, Mr. Derrick Palmer.
