ABAPD CELEBRATES ITS 9th ANNIVERSARY


Under the leadership of Ms. Shirley Austin, the first woman to become its President since it was founded in 1995, the Antigua & Barbuda Association of Persons with Disabilities celebrated its 9th Anniversary on May 20, 2004 under the following abbreviated program:

  1. The Directors and Members of the Association joined the congregation of the Villa Baptist Church on Sunday, May 16, 2004 to give thanks;

  2. A Fund-raising Dinner on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the Royal Antiguan Crystal Ballroom under the auspices of the Hon. Hilson Baptiste & Mrs. Baptiste, the Minister of Tourism, Trade and International Affairs was postponed until Friday, May 28, 2004 because of unusually inclement weather;

  3. The rescheduling of the fund-raising dinner caused the cancellation of the Social Evening that had been planned for Saturday, May 29, 2004.

Special thanks is being conveyed to all who supported our activities this year with an early notification that we are expecting a greater things from everyone for our grand 10th Anniversary celebration!
